Salary

Salary Range: $36,278.19 annualized, commensurate with education, experience and qualifications.

Hours per Week

Non-Exempt Position: 40 hours per week.

Required Application Materials

Essential Functions

Function: To provide journeyman level skills to perform painting.

Scope: Responsible for preparing surfaces for painting, and applying paints to machinery, equipment, furniture, and interiors and/or buildings by spray gun or brush.

Typical:

• Provides painter skills to include erecting or rigging scaffolds; scrapes, sandpapers, primes or seals surfaces prior to painting; mixes, matches, and applies paint, varnishes, shellacs, enamels, and other finishes; and covers surfaces and furniture to protect against paint.

• Checks condition of woodwork; removes spattered paint upon job completion; and cleans and cares for brushes, spray guns, and other equipment.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

Periodic:

• Report needs for carpentry repairs.

Required Qualifications

• Completion of 10th grade.

• Two years of skilled/journeyman level experience as a painter.

• Criminal Background Check (CBC).

• Ability to use the tools of the painting trade, including the use of spray guns and sanding equipment.

Preferred Qualifications

• High School graduation or GED.

• Three or more years of skilled/journeyman level experience as a painter.

Working Conditions

Working Conditions:

• Exposure to outside weather conditions.

• Work is frequently performed on ladders or scaffolds.

The primary work location for this position will be on campus. Travel and parking expenses are the employee's responsibility.
