Partner with the best

As a Site Reliability Engineer, you will be a key technical contributor within a small expert team. This ream is responsible for the operations of the Akamai's Enterprise Security Business Unit (BU). This is a dynamic role, focused on ensuring the optimal performance, efficiency and reliability of the Akamai Zero Trust Security Platform.

As a Senior Site Reliability Engineer II, you will be responsible for:

• Deploying, managing, and operating scalable, highly available, and fault-tolerant systems on the Akamai Zero Trust Cloud Platform
• Analyzing and improving the security, stability, speed, and capacity of Akamai Zero Trust production network
• Automating new cloud service deployments
• Monitoring and troubleshooting Akamai cloud services to ensure SLA is met and adequate capacity is available
• Analyzing logs and events from the cloud service and providing recommendations to ensure smooth service operation
• Identifying appropriate use of cloud operational best practices
• Estimating cloud usage costs and identify operational cost control mechanisms

Do what you love

To be successful in this role you will:

• Have 3-5 years of experience and a bachelors degree in computer science or related field
• Have experience working on Linux and large-scale cloud-based Infrastructures such as AWS
• Have an experience with Linux containers solutions and orchestration such as Dockers, Kubernetes
• Have a deep understanding of TCP/IP as well as HTTP/S and related web technologies
• Demonstrate experience in configuring and maintaining load balancers, Nginx/Apache proxies and common infrastructure such as Postgres, Elasticsearch etc.
• Have experience scripting/coding in Python/bash or another language
• Have experience with deployment and configuration management tools such as Ansible, Terraform, Puppet and Chef

Compensation

Akamai is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The base salary for this position ranges from $113,430 - $170,043/year; a candidate’s salary is determined by various factors including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and location. The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of annual bonus or incentives, equity awards and an Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP).
