About the role
What you need to know:
The Telephone Account Manager is an important, proactive sales role within the department, therefore in this role you will need to:
- Initiate new business telephone calls with advisers and meet call targets
- Develop business through a panel of advisers by explaining the AIG Life proposition and approach
- Demonstrate the online services to advisers via webinars and through supporting and coaching advisers on the phone to help them adopt our online processes
- Managing the new business quotation process from getting feedback to successfully winning a scheme and placing ‘on-risk’, ensuring all supporting documentation is saved and filed
- Work with scheme underwriting and administration teams in the new business process
- Deal appropriately with technical insurance questions and online process queries on the phone or by e-mail
- Be able to administer and prioritise workloads effectively
- Manage potential disputes and service failures to minimise impact on the client and the adviser and reputation damage to the insurer/brand
What we’re looking for:
- Experience within a telephone sales or customer service environment
- Desire to develop a career in sales
- Excellent communication & customer service skills
- Must be proactive, driven and target orientated
- Good organisation skills is vital
- Willingness to learn about the insurance industry
- Ability to support, engage and motivate others
- Good team member - flexible, adaptable, optimistic
- Enthusiastic and lively

Our telesales team has made an excellent start in building relationships with advisers who otherwise would not have done business with AIG Life. However it is clear that there is a lot more potential. As a result we are expanding the team and are therefore looking for an outstanding candidate to join and help us build new relationships with intermediaries. You must be a highly motivated, driven individual with some experience in telephone sales and enthusiasm, energy, persistency and resilience in equal measure.
