Application Analyst

Position Purpose:
The purpose of this position is to support Data Acquisition and Control Systems applications in an Engine Research and Development Laboratory. Daily activities include maintenance of current systems by performing application configuration, scripting, troubleshooting and developing of new functionalities and high efficient tools for the real-time systems and post-test data processing applications.

Required Skills:
• Bachelor's degree in engineering or engineering technology and/or five years of programming or IT analyst experience.
• Understanding of technical areas including, but not limited to:
o Proven experience of programming languages Visual Basic, Excel VBA and VB.Net, SQL
o Experience with Windows
o Microsoft Office with strong skills in Excel
o Proficient in gathering and analyzing data for trouble shooting and engine test reporting
o Working knowledge of Systems Analysis
o Ability to design and develop one-off queries to support Data Analysis

• Analyze, design, program, debug, and modify software for enhancements and/or new products. Write code, complete programming, testing and debugging of applications. Create and maintain documentation on procedures of installation and maintenance.

Daily Functions
• Participate in data analysis and decision making by providing technical expertise regarding various options and potential outcomes.
• Adapt to and perform all phases of client development methodology, from concept definition to post-production support.
• Interact with engineers, lab operations and end users to define system requirements, necessary modifications and develop solutions of new test designs and/or enhancements.
