Talent Acquisition Specialist I (Temporary) Posting Details Job Details Description

Position Summary:
Under close supervision, the Talent Acquisition Specialist I manages full-life cycle recruiting activities to attract and hire exceptional talent needed to Move Mercury Forward Together. This role will be responsible for entry level type requisitions. Recruiting activities include advertising, sourcing, screening, interviewing, selecting candidates in partnership with business leaders, and providing an excellent onboarding experience.

Essential Job Functions:
-Screens and interviews appropriate applicants to present a qualified talent pool to hiring managers for final selection. Evaluates applicants based on employment factors such as related experience, education and training, job-related assessments, skills, knowledge and abilities and other data pertinent to the selection and referral of candidates. Engages with outside vendor to conduct background screening of finalist. Extends offers of employment, which may include negotiation within approved level of authority. Ensures a smooth and positive onboarding experience.
-Effectively utilizes colleges, employment agencies, media, internet sites, social media and community services to attract high potential applicants to build talent pools for current and future openings. Identifies and contacts potential passive applicants. Attends events to represent Mercury and generate awareness of employment opportunities. Serves as a strong representative of Mercury’s culture and direction and ensures a positive applicant experience.
-Establishes effective partnerships with business leaders and HC Business Partners to understand and prioritize talent needs and serves as a trusted advisor throughout the talent selection process. Uses research, data, and expertise to effectively consult with business leaders and positively contribute to the recruiting experience and decision-making process. Provides guidance in the areas of interviewing and talent selection.
-Maintains regular communication with hiring managers, HC business partners and top candidates regarding status of openings. Informs hiring managers and HC business partners of challenges sourcing or identifying qualified candidates. Mitigates legal risk by following employment laws, and escalates concerns. Updates applicant tracking system with applicant status.

Education:
• Completion of a Bachelor’s degree (BA, BS) in Human Resources or related field preferred
• PHR or SPHR certification preferred

Experience:
• 2 years of directly-related experience; or equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
