Summary

The Town of Shrewsbury, a full service local government driven by high performance and creativity, seeks a diligent and methodical individual to join our executive leadership team as the Principal Assessor. This department head role also serves as the chairperson of the Board of Assessors and is a member of the Administration and Finance Leadership team. The Principal Assessor is responsible for the professional, administrative and supervisory work related to the valuation of all residential, industrial, commercial real estate and personal property within the Town, in accordance with the Department of Revenue regulations, related Massachusetts General Laws, and Town bylaws. The Principal Assessor provides time-sensitive financial information, analysis and consultation to the Boards of Assessors, Town Manager, and other Town Officials. The Principal Assessor leads, directs, trains, supports and supervises an Assistant Assessor, Administrative Assistant, Office Assistant, and two part time Listers. Work Hours & Benefits

The Principal Assessor works from the Shrewsbury Town Hall. The work hours are conveniently Monday through Friday from 8 AM to 4:30 PM with a daily one-hour lunch break, and as needed.
