Substitute Teacher/Teacher Assistant

The Williams School maintains a list of qualified substitute teachers who are called upon to provide classroom instruction in the absence of the regular teacher. Substitutes are paid on a per diem basis calculated on an hourly basis. Substitutes are periodically needed for both Lower and Middle School classes, both onsite and occasionally in a remote capacity.

The Williams School is a K-8 lab school that fosters innovation, creativity and engagement in education. Located in the historic Ghent neighborhood of Norfolk, Williams has a long history of education where students gain a solid foundation in preparation for high school and beyond. The school is an accredited member of the Virginia Association of Independent Schools and also holds membership in the National Association of Independent Schools. Requirements

The successful candidate will have:

Excellent verbal and written skills and the ability to communicate with students and colleagues Teaching experience, preferably in a K-8 setting A bachelor’s degree in education or related field Experience with the use of technology as a teaching and educational tool
