Position Purpose

The Dental Assistant is responsible for facilitating all activities that involve patient care in the dental operatories as well as clerical duties, maintenance of dental equipment and supply inventory for ourMadison location

This is a 32 hour-a-week position with regular days/hours each week.Scope of Responsibilities

Position Responsibilities

  • Prepare operatories and disinfect area at completion of procedure.
  • Assist dentist chair side during dental procedures .
  • Provide clerical support to patient, dentist ,hygienist and receptionist as appropriate.
  • Inventory control , supply ordering and payment requests.
  • Completion of prior authorization requests for Medicaid(T-19).
  • Entry of dental treatment plans in EPIC/WISDOM data system.
  • Equipment maintenance as assigned by dentist.
  • Participate in periodic continuing education activities.
  • Complies with Vivent Health’s Healthcare Corporate Compliance Standards of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as delegated by supervisor.
  • Minimum of two years experience in dental assisting
  • Ability to work with a diverse patient population
  • Sensitivity to HIV/AIDS issues
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) a plus
  • C.D.A. a plus
  • Current CPR certification
  • An Influenza vaccine is required of all new employees at the time of employment, and is required thereafter on an annual basis.
  • A tuberculin/TB skin test is required of all new employees at the time of employment, and may be required thereafter on an annual basis, depending on position.
