As Manager of Product Management, you are the model team player, adept at managing relationships, collaborating, and influencing across a variety of organizational functions. You will guide a product team that leads the product team’s contribution to our business, building new products and increasing the profitability of existing products. In addition, you will help develop new ideas based on your contact with customers and prospects.

You should be prepared to make decisions with imperfect information, know how to lead your team and others and be comfortable managing multiple priorities, ambiguity and complexity. You must possess a unique blend of business and technical savvy that includes a big-picture vision and the drive to make that vision a reality. You must also enjoy spending time in the market to understand market problems, and to find innovative solutions for the broader market.

Requirements

Responsibilities:

• Own a customer or market problem end-to-end by creating the vision, setting strategic direction, and successfully delivering key product deliverables and outcomes.
• Be a partner with engineering, design, marketing, sales, and customer success teams to build solutions that increase customer satisfaction and grow the business.
• Partnership in research and testing to understand customer pain and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Use product analytics to understand how customers use the product and help guide decisions on future improvements and optimizations.
• Act as the “messenger of the market” to the rest of the organization
• Analyze various industries and market segments, and collaborate with leadership to select the best ones to pursue
• Develop a three-year roadmap for our products to illustrate our vision and plan into the future
• Develop and maintain a business proposal that makes a compelling case for continued investment into our products
• Collaborate with other stakeholders, such as product marketing, on the creation of market and product positioning for your products
• Create user stories for current and future products based on the market’s problems
• Manage the entire product life cycle from prototyping and testing new features/products and ideas, to sunsetting legacy products
• Drive buy-build-partner analysis, and where necessary, review potential partner relationships for the product
• Know why we are winning and losing in the market, and drive changes to our product and processes to create improvement
• Keep a finger on the pulse of our competition, and develop strategies and tactics to mitigate risks or embrace opportunities.
• Review feature requests from Customer Success, Sales, Solutions Engineering, and R&D and determine if/when to add them to the development pipeline
• Manage a staff of up to 5 team members in the near future

Experience & Qualities:

• Minimum of 5 years of product management experience in a market or software area related to or adjacent to facilities and maintenance management*
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) product types
• Experience managing 2 or more team members in a management role
• Tech-savvy and passionate about building new products
• Track record of using qualitative and quantitative data to prioritize and drive decision-making
• Proficient in productivity applications such as Microsoft Office, Project or Basecamp
• Comfortable using collaboration and CRM tools such as Slack, JIRA, Salesforce
• Metrics-driven: strong analytical and synthesis skills are a must, including the ability to absorb and process large amounts of data into actionable information
• Experience with best practice agile scrum development and lean startup principles
• Curious and comfortable holding professional conversations with our target buyers and users
• Must be a strong writer and public speaker in front of large, senior groups
• Excellent people and management skills to interact with team members, colleagues, cross-functional teams, and third parties
• MBA preferred
• Ability to travel up to 25% of the time
