Registered Nurse - Long Term Acute Care - 12hr Nights

Malone Healthcare is currently hiring Long-Term Acute Care Registered Nurses who are interested in assignments in Nashville, TN.

The Registered Nurse (RN) maintains the delivery of quality care by assuring the nursing care plan is followed.  The RN supervises Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and orientees.

Job-Specific Duties Include:

• Initiates an on-going systematic assessment of the physical, emotional, social, educational, and functional needs of the patients/families through interview, observation, and physical examination.
• Interprets assessment data and information to develop a nursing care plan. Assesses safety and fall risk levels for patients.
• Assures that medical orders are transcribed and processed accurately and integrates the medical care plan into the provision of nursing care.
• Assures that medication/I.V. administration is correct and according to the established nursing policies and procedures. Administers medications as ordered. Verbalizes policy and procedure for maintenance and care of central line catheters. Identifies critical drip medications; able to locate critical drip policies and administers according to policies after completing critical drip competency training. Regulates drip rates as ordered. Administers I.V. drugs.
• Demonstrates skills in handling emergency and life-threatening situations. Locates and uses crash cart items. Calls Code Blue and Medical Emergency. Initiates CPR. Follows P&P and DNR.
• Assures that documents in the medical record are complete, factual, accurate and timely.
• Performs a complete head-to-toe assessment of each assigned patient per shift using proper documentation tools. Acts promptly on changes in patient condition, utilizing SBAR method. Performs wound care in accordance with policy, utilizing proper documentation tools. Performs basic ventilator management and trouble-shooting.
• Abides by all safety, infection control, and other guidelines as required.

RN’s Must have the Following:

• 1-2 years ICU/Critical Care experience, preferably with ventilators, tracheostomy tubes or intubated patients
• Bedside clinical experience strongly preferred
• RN License (compact or state-specific)
• ACLS & BLS Certification
• Covid vaccine (or religious/medical declination)
