DESCRIPTION OF POSITION The Registered Dietitian, will provide education and training in medical nutrition therapy to patients, their families, and community groups as defined by the scope of their practice. The Registered Dietitian will assist with diet management and documentation in the electronic medical record of the following: assessment, nutritional diagnosis, interventions, monitoring and outcomes. Serves as back-up for the Clinical Dietitian and will be responsible for the duties and responsibilities as defined in the Clinical Dietitian job description. QUALIFICATIONS # Professional/Educational Master#s Degree in Food and Nutrition or Education preferred. Four year degree in Dietetics. Five years Clinical experience as Registered Dietitian preferred. Must be Registered Dietitian and licensed by the State of Illinois. Membership in Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and other related professional organizations is preferred. DCFS Mandated Reporter Certificate of Completion required. # Personal Must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patient. Must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient#s requirements relative to his or her age-specific needs. Must be able to provide the care needed as described in the units/areas/departments policies and procedures. Must possess good social and communication skills. Must demonstrate a commitment to quality and teamwork.
