Overview

Under supervision of the CMO, you will have clinical and administrative responsibilities. While providing day-to-day clinical care to frail institutional and non-institutional patients and residents, you will practice and role-model ethical and evidence-based decision-making to promote the vision and mission of the company to other practitioners and staff. As a regional, administrative physician lead, you will provide medical director services in various settings, while training, mentoring and overseeing company nurse practitioners and setting accountability for key outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Assumes medical directorships for up to 5 skilled facilities and/or other senior living institutions. (Details of medical director responsibilities will be provided as a separate document)
  • Provides collaborating physician duties for up to 15 nurse practitioners and physician assistants (based on state regulatory parameters)
  • Provides high-quality complex and geriatric care to residents and patients across settings in partnership with non-physician practitioner and other interprofessional team members
  • Participates in company frontline /Backup Call structures for timely response toto acute changes of condition to prevent avoidable hospital transfers, or other clinical needs. No more than 5 days of frontline call per month
  • Assists company leaders in various programs to promote quality of medical services e.g., new and ongoing practitioner training, practitioner recruiting and hiring, performing chart reviews and audits, and to review quality outcomes
  • Keeps a high focus on key practitioner and company level outcomes including but not limited to care path compliance and productivity, prevention of avoidable transfers and decrease in polypharmacy and costs of cate
  • Keeps in regular communication with the VP of Business and Medical Affairs
  • Attends at operations meetings, quarterly trainings, or other meetings as requested by the CMO
  • As requested by the CMO, participates in the review of, and discussion to improve financial outcomes of the designated region/ market
  • As requested, participates in the review of attaining desired health outcomes for the designated region
  • Partakes, and as needed conduct, monthly meetings with providers to discuss medical topics and/or protocol and any items of concern encountered during the month
  • Based on state and regional regulatory frameworks, audits up to 10% of practitioner medical orders and/ or documentation for each provider on a monthly basis, providing a summary report to the Director of Quality Audits

Qualifications

  • Graduate from an accredited school of medicine and is a Doctor of Medicine
  • Board certification in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine or Geriatrics; qualification in Geriatrics preferred
  • Practicing physician currently licensed under the provisions of the State Board of Medicine
  • Valid license to practice medicine
  • Two or more years of administrative leadership experience in healthcare
  • Clinical medical experience of seven years or more preferred
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and illustrating abilities
  • Excellent computer and electronic record-keeping skills
  • Excellent organizational and management skills
  • Excellent decision-making, problem-solving, and cognitive abilities

Salary Range

USD $125,000.00 - $250,000.00 / Year
