Operations Industrial Engineer

POSITION SUMMARY

The Process/Industrial Engineer will support Back of House (BOH) operations through continuous improvement initiatives that increase safety, efficiency, and quality. Identifies opportunities for innovation in processes, equipment, and BOH arrangement. Partners with cross-functional teams in developing tools and metrics to minimize labor costs and reduce food waste.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

May perform any or all of the following duties:

• Develops an understanding of all restaurant operations to provide process improvement and engineering support.
• Executes capital projects that support improved safety, improved efficiencies, and increased quality.
• Identifies BOH processes and equipment barriers to meet established and future capacities.
• Partners with restaurant operations and field leadership to investigate, resolve, and document all process related issues.
• Partners with the Culinary Team to identify areas of waste related to food products, packaging materials, preparation processes, etc., and implements projects to reduce these costs.
• Identifies, evaluates, and recommend new BOH equipment that improve the both the efficiency and quality of our restaurants.
• Defines and enhances BOH operating procedures and techniques that will enable growth, reduce waste and improve efficiency

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering with a focus on Process or Industrial Engineering.
• 5+ years of experience in the restaurant or food processing/manufacturing industry
• Continuous improvement experience preferred
• Strong mathematic and statistical analysis skills
• Ability to conduct workflow and movement analysis
• Simio, Arena, Simul8 or other simulation background

WORK ENVIRONMENT

• Corporate Office fast paced, high volume of activity and a deadline driven environment

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

• Sitting for extended periods of time, using telephone, typing and/or operating a computer and/or mouse
• Travels as needed approximately 30-50%
