The turn of events yesterday was a shocking yet, possibly hopeful open door for me. I was laid off from my job of 11 years as a merchandising manager. The details are still unclear, but it looks like the economy and the current state of retail was a contibuting factor. With that said, I feel that trying to find another job in the same feild may prove to be impossible. However, I have been working on a program for keeping weight off after weight loss surgery. Perhaps this is the opportunity to have trhe time to finally develope and finish it. I am hoping that my family here at Thinnertimes and my support group will utilize the information and possibly offer suggestions and experiences to further this endeavor. Feel free to advise and let me know what you would like to see or learn about keeping the weight off. Wish me well and lets see where this new ride takes me!!!
 LyndasRoom
Rain honey, I am so sorry to be seeing this so late. I feel awful that this turn of events has occured! You have such a lovely eye for design, I have no doubt that someone will snap you right up if that's what you want. Do something without heavy lifting this time...department store? and do take this time to solidify what you want to do with 'After the FAt"...try to enjoy the summer and getting ready for the wedding...It's hard, I know...all of a sudden it's like "what do I do now?".
 rainrain
thanks all for your support and comments. I believe this is time for me to start this endeavor. I am giving myself through this week and by Monday, starting a new job of writing this book. I will keep you all posted!! The top salesperson @ Carmel Mtn makes 100K per year. You wouldnt even have to put in a good word. With your eye for design and their corporate gas card the $$$ could roll in. MiladyB
Rain, I would love to pick your brain some time. As you know I've been in discussion with my surgeon's practice in regards to their support group system. I think they are in great need of some type of program for their patients who have gained back weight or are struggling to maintain. I really feel it is essential for them to incorporate something. I've also been in discussion with them in regards to totally over-hauling their support group system. I've been thrilled that they have embraced several of my suggestions but I really think they need to take this much further. They know I am interested in taking a job as a paid support group leader. I'm not sure if they are ready for that type of decision but I'm laying the ground work, so we shall see. I was notified the other day that the Practice Manager would like to meet with me in January after they pull out from under the major medical system that they presently work under. This system has had a bit of a thumb on them and come Jan. they are pulling out and going independent. With that, they tell me, they will have much more freedom to make some major changes. Well good luck, Rain. I'm excited to see where this journey will take you.
 Join the conversation You can post now and register later.
