What will you be doing in this role:

The Manager, Web Tech Development is responsible for running an engineering team, leading them in the analysis, requirements, design, development, testing, improvement, documentation, and ongoing support of website technology platform. The manager collaborates with key stakeholders in the overall technology strategy for future growth of web platform and infrastructure by evaluating new and evolving technologies and frameworks. This individual leads the overall current site architecture and hierarchy as the site grows and responds to changing business needs for the website.

Provides direct management and supervision of a team of Front End and Full Stack engineers.

Guides, management, and leadership to Digital Web Technology Development team with an emphasis on building modern, robust, scalable web applications.

Drives software architectural discussions, influencing decisions, and collaborating with peers to maintain consistency across the organization.

Partners with product teams to brainstorm and propose technical solution for new implementations.

Mentor developers to ensure delivered solutions adhere to the software architecture strategy, coding standards, and established organizational policies and procedures.

Leads the comprehensive technical strategy and low-level execution of high-quality and efficient solutions that satisfy stakeholder and customer business requirements.

Lead engineering efforts for the development of modern component libraries, tools enabling efficiency, and enterprise level infrastructure for use with highly visible and impactful web-based experiences.

Ensures best of breed agile software development practices are adhered to while continuing to evolve with the industry.

Develops outstanding engineers and future leaders by being engaged and committed to their personal and professional growth.

Evaluates and improves engineering processes and procedures to increase efficiency and productivity.

Continually improve the availability, performance, scalability, and security of our products.

Helps the team make decisions, keep moving forward, and propose changes and improvements to promote scalable, reliable, and maintainable technologies.

Enforces every aspect of privacy and HIPAA compliance through digital technology implementation.

Participates in the development and implementation of enterprise policies for data security and confidentiality.

Implements the CSHS technology architecture guidelines for technology infrastructure and application development.

Manages vendor relations, service delivery, maintenance/support contracts, and invoicing.

Experience Requirements:

Three (3)+ years of experience managing software development teams.

Ten (10)+ years of experience developing software. (prefer 1+ years leading teams in an Agile, team-based environment)

Must have prior hands-on experience, delivering UI component libraries, tools, and secure infrastructure that supports global-scale, highly trafficked, high-profile interactive websites.

Proficient in web technologies including HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.

Solid background with Javascript based frameworks (React, Angular, Typescript, Node, etc).

Experience developing secure and scalable web services and APIs.

Firm grasp of web security standards, HTTP response/request handling, DNS routing/configuration, and CDN.

Experience with agile software development processes (e.g. Scrum).

Solid grasp of current web innovations, technologies, standard methodologies in web design, usability, accessibility, web application security concepts, and RestAPI is required.

Educational Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or related field.
