Job Title: Business Services Program Manager /Ovarian Cancer Innovation Group Program Manager

Job Summary:

Key Responsibilities:

This position will manage the day-to-day operations of the OCIG, providing oversight to staff, programs, projects, and funding. In addition, this position has the delegated authority to act on the program director’s behalf in managing the day-to-day operations.

Personnel Management – 25%

  • Manage OCRC personnel matters including recruitment, hiring, onboarding, performance improvements, promotion and termination processes.
  • Provide direct supervision to staff (as listed above) in their day-to-day work, including annual performance evaluations.
  • Oversee Innovation Group operations and employee productivity, building a highly inclusive culture ensuring team members thrive and organizational outcomes are met.

Financial Management – 25%

  • Assist the OCRC Director in strategic funding development, planning, and programmatic implementation priorities.
  • Collaborate with the OCRC Director in setting and driving organizational vision, operational strategy, and hiring needs.
  • Translate strategies into actionable deliverables for performance and growth.
  • Prepare and oversee budgets, funding plans, program narratives and scopes of works
  • Oversee development of federal and foundation grant proposals pertaining to the OCIG missions of early detection, prevention, and general ovarian cancer research.
  • Manage expenses and allocate resources from all funding sources including gifts, grants and contracts funds.
  • Negotiate the funding and deliverables with funders regarding proposed and existing center activities and programs.
  • Manage the financial aspects of operations and staff.
  • Collaborate with finance personnel within the school, campus, and University.
  • Respond to requests from the school’s financial team, OCIG Director, and Central Financial Services for fiscal budgetary information;.
  • Maintain familiarity with University procurement process and systems.

Operations Management – 50%

  • Assist the OCIG Director with the creation of work plans related to various funding sources; supervise implementation of program work plans; prepare and submit grant and fund reports.
  • Manage activities that affect operational decisions and business requirements.
  • Ensure all program initiatives align with the organization’s core values and culture.
  • Manage major OCIG events
  • Coordinate with university administration to develop the on-campus OCIG presence such as setting up informational sessions, managing logistical situations related to the OCIG.
  • Engage the local (University, Denver, and Colorado) and national research and patient advocate communities to disseminate information regarding the OCIG’s mission.

Other duties as assigned

Work Location:

Hybrid– this role is eligible for a hybrid schedule of up to 5 days per week on campus and as needed for in-person meetings.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor’s degree in business, business administration, finance, accounting , education, social sciences, healthcare administration, public administration, communications, information systems, or a directly related field from an accredited institution. Candidates must possess proficient computer skills (e.g., MS Office package, including MS Word, MS Excel).
  • This position requires 2-5 years of related experience.

Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A master’s degree in the above named health-related fields or a related field, or a Master’s of Business Administration (M.B.A.)
  • Candidates with prior training and/or experience in Cancer Research, specific to OBGYN
  • Candidates with experience at a large health care related organization, University or state agency;
  • Candidates with experience in the local (Denver or Colorado) health care environment;
  • Candidates with prior supervisory experience.
