Liberty Personnel is working on a great opportunity with an organization that has grown organically as well as is a key player in M&A activity strengthening their footprint in their space and becoming the leader in the industry! For those reasons, they are building out their accounting team with this newly created Senior Accountant opening. As a senior accountant, you'll be working with an Assistant Controller and Controller on the day to day accounting activities. This would include general ledger, journal entries, reconciliations, financial reporting, management reporting, data analytics, and even some technical accounting.

Responsibilities:

• Assist Controller and Assistant controller with day to day accounting activities
• Prepares difficult journal entries, maintains complex ledgers, reconciles and analyzes specific cost account ledgers. Assists in the development and installation of accounting systems, cost accounting methods, procedures and controls
• Enters monthly journal entries to properly record accounting transactions, ensuring that journal entries have proper back up to substantiate the entry
• Work cross functionally with consolidations, corporate decision support, and financial analysis
• Assist controller with general ledger, balance sheet and month end close
• Work with large data sets to analyze trends, variances, issues, etc.
• Assess and help implement or update internal controls, standards, and efficiencies
• Special projects and/or ad hoc projects as assigned

Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree is required.
• 3+ years of relevant auditing or public accounting experience with publicly traded clients and/or within a publicly traded organization. Would also consider, 5+ years of prior general ledger and balance sheet accounting experience, preferably within a small to mid-sized organization.
• Strong excel and computer skills are required
• Ability to work independently as well as be a key part of a small accounting team
