Staff Accountant

Robert Half has a career-building opportunity for a Staff Accountant with experience and skill to join their team on a permanent basis. In this position, the Staff Accountant prepares journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance and general ledger reconciliation. During the monthly close, various aspects of internal reporting will be under your responsibility. You will put your skills towards the development and implementation of accounting policies. Also, you will take part in compliance, interact with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and review schedules for the reporting processes. This intricate position is involved in the production of Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets. Your responsibilities

- Maintain depreciation, fixed asset ledgers, and reconciliation

- Prepare analyses for monthly balance sheets and income statements for management to report on

- Arrange schedules for capital lease and monthly payments

- Periodic maintenance and reconciliation of journal entries

- In-depth knowledge of reconciling month end balance sheet accounts

- Manage intercompany billings, transactions, and reconciliation

- Partake in a variety of department-wide initiatives

- Upon request, take part in special projects and impromptu reporting

- Perform month end close, journal entries, with minimum supervision

- Coordinate and analyze a variety of financial data, then report it in a way that is useful and understandable

- Support the month end, quarter end and year end closing process by preparing monthly financial close workbooks

- Assist in implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP

- Produce complex journal entries and account reconciliations which include, but are not limited to, cash, prepaid expenses, and payroll

Requirements

- Ability to prioritize work and balance multiple projects and deadlines

- Attentive, ability to work independently and prioritize tasks

- Ability to work within spreadsheets and databases

- Comfortable working in a changing and dynamic environment

- BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics

- Self-starter, ability to identify issues and resolve problems

- Recent and relevant accounting experience

- Comprehensive knowledge of grant accounting

- Proficiency in cash reconciliations

- HealthCare Revenue Cycle experience preferred

- Knowledge of Abila MIP

- Proficient with spreadsheets and databases

- Skillful in analytical, quantitative and social skills

- Knowledgeable of ERP systems

- Mature organizational, written and verbal communication skills
