Drupal Engineer

This platform is currently hosted on a customized Drupal platform, where it acts as the beating heart of our business. We are looking for a Drupal Engineer to join our engineering team. You’ll be responsible for improving, enhancing & maintaining this platform in a scalable and sustainable way. You will be working with the product and engineering team to build new features and enhancements while making sure that the platform performs efficiently while being scalable for future growth.

The role will report to our Head of Engineering, while working remotely.

Responsibilities

• Work with the Product Management team to Implement new features and capabilities for our primary Drupal based infrastructure for Online Fundraising and Professional Coaching.
• Implement enhancements and bug fixes along with regular updates to make sure our Drupal platform is up to date with highest industry standards to serve our customers and requirements of modern web standards.
• Enhance our integrations with external ecosystems vital for our business. This includes popular payment systems like PayPal & Stripe and mobile payment systems like Apple Pay and Google Pay. This would also include integrations with various analytics, data pipeline and business intelligence tools.
• Collaborate cross functionally with other engineering, product management, sales, marketing and customer success teams to maintain an optimal experience for our customer’s success.
• Provide thought leadership and help formulate a future vision for our Drupal infrastructure and help mentor junior engineers.

Minimum Requirements

• 5+ years of experience working as a Software Engineer
• 3+ years, full stack experience building sites based on the Drupal 8 (at least) platform using the ecommerce platform with checkout.
• 3+ years experience working with the PHP and Composer.
• Experience writing object-oriented PHP code.
• Experience writing custom Drupal modules.
• Experience with following Drupal standards and best practices.
• Knowledge of Drupal 8/9 that extends beyond site building.
• Experience with Drupal core and contributed module updates.
• Experience with Git version control and Git workflows.
• Experience working with databases, relational databases with SQL and NoSQL.
• Experience hosting Drupal sites on various cloud platforms, especially Pantheon. Experience with hosting Drupal on other cloud platforms e.g. Google Cloud & AWS would be a huge advantage.
• Experience with building custom themes for Drupal using JavaScript, HTML5 and CSS.
• Experience working with integration payment systems with Drupal e.g. PayPal and Stripe.

Preferred Requirements

• Experience with virtualized development environments and associated tools for automation (Docker, Vagrant, Phing, Ansible, etc)
• Have experience building a Drupal based product from the ground up with customizations to meet specific business needs.
• Ability to follow well-established development processes and systems, employing Agile development methodologies.
• Have extensive experience working with payment systems and their subscription models as they integrate with Drupal.
• Have experience with Drupal APIs & Drupal headless mode to extend and integrate it with other systems and infrastructure.
• Ability to design and test for optimal customer experience for cross-browser, cross-platform, and/or cross-device environments.
