Your impact on the team

As a senior product leader within the Digital Platform Group,Director Technical Product Management, play an integral role in driving the maturation of our digital content & authoring ecosystem. You will exemplify best practices in your craft, serving as a voice for customer-empathetic software, promoting teamwork, knowledge sharing, and driving collaboration with customers and stakeholders across multiple business units.

With our digital products accounting for over 70% of revenue (and growing), you will set a vision and utilize your influence and collaboration to drive the evolution of our digital content and learning experiences as well as the tools our authors use to create and manage those experiences.

What can you expect from the position?

· Manages and mentors Technical Product Managers on the Authoring team (2-3 direct reports).

· Engages with Product Leaders and Academic Designers across McGraw Hill to set vision/direction and translate business objectives into the authoring roadmap

· Uses strong collaboration skills to inspire trust with customers authors, stakeholders, and team members and continuously looking at the product/solutions from the end-user’s perspective.

· Engages business stakeholders and engineering at varying levels of experience to develop vision, strategy, and a prioritized roadmap.

· Uses research, feedback and data to continuously identify opportunities while tracking competitive and technological landscape, keeping abreast of new innovations and developments in the market space.

· Ensures priorities are clear and that agile teams are able to move forward effectively.

· Maintain a holistic view of the authoring platform and team; finds balance across technical debt, infrastructure, and feature/functionality. Identifies risks and understands how to resolve them.

· Ensures cross team dependencies are identified, understood by all affected teams, and then properly managed.

What can you bring to the role?

- Bachelor's degree; Master’s degree preferred

- Product Management: Demonstrated experience in developing, delivering, and managing technology products

- 7-10 + years of experience in leading Agile-based, software product development teams.

- A background in education or experience in educational technology

- Relationship Building - Demonstrated history of cultivating strong working partnerships with internal stakeholders (marketing, sales, etc), technology teams. Influence is a key skill.

- Demonstrated success defining and launching complex SaaS products with the ability to lead user-centered design processes having a strong focus on user experience.

- Experience in collaborating and managing diverse teams. Able to communicate with technical leaders and senior business stakeholders.

- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
