Manufacturing Supervisor
We are seeking an eager, poised, assertive, and ambitious leader with the passion to lead and develop employees in our Manufacturing and Shipping Department to deliver outstanding manufacturing/shipping results in the areas of Cost, Quality, Service, People, and Environment. The ideal candidate must have the ability to attract, retain, develop, inspire and empower employees to drive sustainable continuous improvement at all levels in the manufacturing facility.
Hours: Third Shift (10:30 pm-7:30 am Sunday- Thursday), this role may require off-shift hours and weekends as needed.
Job Responsibilities:
Own and drive department and shift Continuous improvement processes.
Puts the internal and external customer first.
Understands the financial impact of Line Efficiency, Material Yield, and Labor Productivity on plant budgets and develops Action Plans to address gaps.
Optimize staffing to ensure efficient yet effective labor productivity.
Proactively communicate and coordinate with other Supervisors and functions to optimize operations and resources.
Proactively coordinate with the Maintenance Department to conduct preventative maintenance
Work closely with customer service to maintain and build strong relationships.
Understands customer specific needs and loading instructions.
Take ownership of the warehouse and its nightly operations.
Adhere to and lead by example with warehouse management activities.
Focus on Safety of all employees and work environment through adherence of safety procedures and daily safety meetings.
Ensure compliance of GMP’s and the Food Safety Plan.
Deliver continuous improvement in key initiatives of Cost, Quality, Service, People, and Environment through efficient use of materials, equipment, and resources.
Effectively plan and establish work schedules, assignments, and production schedules to meet and exceed customer requirements, production goals, and cost objectives.
Leads engagement of employees, work teams, and the utilization of technology to deliver world-class line efficiencies. Lead Employees.
Achieves results through teamwork: Leads through positive influence; coaches and develops others and, where appropriate, peers.
Provides clear and timely performance feedback to peers and all employees.
Attracts, retains and develops the very BEST talent and empowers, engages, and inspires employees.
Problem solves production issues.
Train new employees in production and warehousing.
Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and procedures.
Able to fill in and run equipment to cover employee PTO, breaks, and lunches when needed.
Work as a team with other Supervisors and Ops Manager to bring unity to the team.
Strong focus on accuracy, teaching and training the correct way, following procedures, and required plant protocols.
Required Experience and Knowledge:
Bachelor’s Degree preferred and two (2) plus years of work experience, preferably in a warehousing/distribution/manufacturing environment.
Must possess strong leadership skills, problem solving skills, and decision-making skills including scheduling and filling overtime.
Excellent oral, written, and presentation skills at various levels of the company.
Proficient computer skills, including usage of Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
Effective communication skills for working cross-functionally in a fast-paced work environment.
Be able to identify equipment failure before major repairs are needed.
Preferred Experience and Knowledge:
Strong understanding of manufacturing (especially milling) and warehouse systems.
Strong Maintenance Trouble Shooting Ability.
Carry a keen sense of the working equipment and how it should be repaired.
