We are looking for Data Centre Engineer to work with a major blue-chip company in Northumberland.

The role is an onsite position covering sites in Doxford & Wynyard.

Working Hours: predominately days shifts across a 28 day cycle. The shift hours are Monday to Friday, 7am – 7pm or 7pm – 7am.

The ideal candidate will need to be eligible to achieve SC Security Clearance.

Job requirements:

We currently have a requirement for a Data Centre Support Engineer to work as part of a team providing network and infrastructure support across two large data centres in Doxford and Wynyard.

Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

• Media Management (media coming on to site and also being shipped off-site)

• Data centre logistics

• Site access management

• Escorting DC visitors

• Infrastructure support hands and eyes tasks

• Equipment asset tagging

• Electronic asset updates via DOMS (electronic asset management system)

• Asset auditing via DOMS

• Equipment Installation and decommissioning work

Essential Skills:

• Basic understanding of IT operations or experience in a data centre environment

• Strong loyalty with regard to data and DC facility security

• Competent and professional communication with a commercial attitude over the phone

• Capacity to understand and clarify customer expectations effectively

• Capacity to manage customer expectations and interactions effectively

• Basic understanding of server HW (console, devices…)

• Ability to handle various types of media, devices and libraries

• Generic media management knowledge
