Evening Shift Custodian

The School Custodian is responsible for cleaning designated sections of the building after school hours and/or while students are in session. During summer months the custodian works as an integral part of the custodial team to clean and maintain the GES campus.

The Custodian uses the necessary supplies and equipment for all cleaning and maintenance of the building and grounds by working directly with the school principal and head custodian.

Some of the duties required are as follows:

  • Clean all areas of the school campus
  • Report the need for cleaning supplies to the head custodian
  • Follow all safety records such as OSHA and MSDS
  • Report building needs and performing basic building maintenance
  • Ensure all reported work is performed and complete
  • Monitor campus lighting and replacing bulbs
  • Garbage removal from the building
  • Playground cleaning and maintenance
  • Lifting items such as: school furniture, supplies, paper, cleaning equipment, etc.
  • Maintain all cleaning equipment and report needed repairs
