The QA/QC Manager is responsible for the implementation and the maintenance of the quality assurance management process ensuring that all quality control tasks are carried out by documenting the construction process and inspecting each stage of construction. The QA Manager works closely with all members of the project team to ensure that all projects meet the standards of quality. In addition, this position works to educate and inform employees on current and updated building requirements through effective training and communication programs. This role requires extensive travel to our construction projects throughout the country.
Responsibilities:
Support field leadership and project management team to build quality in every project. Look for and mitigate risk, solve QA issues, teach field to become better builders.
Manage QA issues and warranty claims to mitigate cost; respond promptly and when appropriate, hold responsible party accountable for cost.
Stop work if necessary to resolve matters that affect safety, quality and/or inhibit the logical progress of work.
Review shop drawings and submittals for conformance with project specifications. Attend/Participate in pre-Installation meetings.
Hold SQPMs (Safety Quality Pre-planning Meetings), Support regions and project teams by reviewing construction documents and put together reports (Drawing Reviews), site visit reports, etc.
Train field teams to verify and document that all materials installed for the project are in conformance with the approved submittal, are handled and stored appropriately, work with owner and trade partners to resolve issues, train estimating/Precon/Project managers on best practices. Knowing their roles as it relates to MEP or QA/QC in the early stages of the project and are acceptable for use in the project. Review installation-procedures and methodology requirements making sure installation meets industry/manufacturer’s requirements. Make our regionals and field staff more quality conscientious
Assist in update the QAP manual, as well as creating new sections as we identify new scopes of work
Verify that Hoar's QAP as well as checklists are being used and signed off prior to the placement of concrete, steel, and other similar items of work. Inspect sites to insure quality is built into projects, make suggestions and follow up with project teams.
Establish interim training either at strategic locations or on job sites to train field staff in our quality control program. Train superintendents to become more quality conscious.
Reviews statistical studies, technological advances, or regulatory standards and trends to stay abreast of issues in the field; make adjustments to company standards, practices and procedures as necessary. Commit to use global means of communication to share QA related information for better outreach (i.e. memos, lessons learned). Attend classes to pursue education in order to stay abreast of industry standards, and join industry groups to better self-knowledge and industry recognition.
Maintain QA/QC Matrices
Work with design, product manufacturers reps and other 3rd parties to help ensure compliance with specifications, QA/QC operations, fabrication, etc.

Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in Building Science, Construction Management, Civil Engineering or related field
5-7 years of experience in the construction industry working with commercial and/or industrial projects
Knowledge of construction documents and processes and a wide range of construction materials, methods and techniques Knowledge of industry and manufacturer’s standards and installation requirements.
Advanced knowledge of principles and best practices of building envelope systems
Proficient in MS Office
CPE, LEED AP or other applicable certifications
QA/QC Certifications (Roofing, Stucco, HVAC)
Valid Driver's License Required
