Configuration Technician

Duration: 3+ month contract

Location: Vernon Hills, IL 60061

Overview: The CRS Group is currently looking for a Configuration Technician for one of our clients in the Vernon Hills area. The CRS Group is a nationwide Staffing Firm who works primarily with Fortune 500 and Fortune 1000 corporations.



Job Description:

As a Configuration Technician, you will install and configure hardware and software on a high volume of computers, printers, and other products for customers on a daily basis. You will also be unboxing the units to configure and boxing the units back up to prepare for shipment.

Job Duties:

• Configures customers systems to their required specifications.
• Tests systems to ensure 100% quality.
• Maintains minimum monthly productivity goals.
• Troubleshoots problems with computer systems, including hardware, software, and peripheral equipment.
• Ensures that customers receive the highest level of customer service.
• Communicates issues concerning customer orders to the area Help Desk or Team Leader.
• Adheres to safety procedures and guidelines at all times.
• Performs any additional duties assigned by management.

Qualifications:

• High School diploma or equivalent required
• A+ Certification or an equivalent combination of education and experience with the ability to demonstrate knowledge required
• Net+ Certification preferred
• Knowledge of computer components and configuration of various types of computers, as demonstrated by previous experience building and installing computers preferred
• Analytical skills and the ability to solve problems required
• Ability to quickly learn about new technology and keep pace with an ever-changing industry required
• Ability to assemble and disassemble computer equipment, mechanically inclined required
• Obtain certifications and continually learn new technology required
• Demonstrated ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds of force frequently required
• Demonstrated ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds of force occasionally required
• Demonstrated ability to push and pull up to 10 pounds of force occasionally required
• Demonstrated ability to perform 8+ hours of standing, walking, bending, lifting, stooping, and carrying products in combination at any given time required
• Ability to work in a warehouse environment, which includes changes in temperature as weather fluctuates, with noise from conveyors and forklifts
• Ability and willingness to work beyond regularly scheduled shift required
