Performs technical work in the maintenance, repair, replacement, and installation of laundry equipment, commercial washers, dryers, conveyors, ironers, folders, boilers and steam press.
General

Good knowledge of electrical systems, computers control systems and components, pneumatic and hydraulic controls and systems boiler and steam distribution and return, air conditioning and the maintenance and repair of all.

Good knowledge of OSHA safety procedures and regulations.

Good knowledge of utility and sewer systems associated with Laundry operations.

Skill in using computer systems for laundry management systems and internal communications.

Basic English language communication skills in reading/writing and speaking in order to complete logs, read blueprints and mechanical drawings, communicate with co-workers and fully comprehend job assignments safely.

Basic trade mathematical skills.

Prepares records and reports describing procedures, action taken and recommended solutions.

Prepares and submits requests for supplies and equipment.

Responds to emergency service requests.

Knowledge of pertinent rules and regulations, guidelines, safety ordered, departmental operating procedures and safety regulations sufficient to insure that work is performed in compliance with applicable law.

Repairs and maintains washers, driers, extractors, condensers, pumps, blowers, presses, and other laundry equipment: operates, examines, and dismantles equipment to diagnose cause of malfunction.

Repairs or replace parts, using hand tools and measuring instruments.

Replaces components such as bearings, motors, and microswitches.

Replace faulty sections of pipe, valves and fitting, using plumbing tools.

Dismantles steam traps and removes sediment.

Removes faceplates from equipment to clean out dust and lint.

Replaces worn or torn aprons, roll covers and pads on mangles.

Lubricates machines and equipment, using grease gun and oilcans.

All other duties as assigned to maintain the safety and cleanliness of the Laundry

Follows safety rules and procedures; avoid known hazards in the work environment.
Supportive Functions and Responsibilities

Post high school training in engineering/maintenance related discipline

Ability to read, write and speak English fluently
-
Strong mechanical background with minimum 2 years hands on experience in maintenance related activity. Previous hospitality experience required.

Ability to bend, stoop, and lift ( up to 75 lbs.) repetitively

Ability to work flexible hours to include weekends and holidays
-
Must be guest oriented and possess excellent hospitality skills
