Chemist/Chemical Engineer Co-op

The Chemist/Chemical Engineer co-op for Cooper Tire & Rubber Co. will work under the direction of Chemists/Chemical Engineers to participate in and/or lead one or more of the following activities:

• Monitoring production test data
• Analyzing test results
• Conducting mixing, extrusion, or calendaring studies
• Participating in process improvement activities
• Conducting materials evaluations for product and/or cost improvements
• Participating in product development programs

  This is a Full Time Co-Op position and requires a 40 hour work week. Our co-op students are given pertinent work assignments and have opportunities to work in our manufacturing facility. We believe strongly in the learning aspect of the work assignment and pair our co-op students with working professionals.

• Basic Qualifications & Educational
• Requirements:

• Must be a currently enrolled student majoring in Chemical or Materials Engineering and having completed at least the freshman year
• GPA of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 scale (Consideration will be given to lower GPAs depending on experiences)
• Strong written, verbal, analytical and interpersonal skills
• Display maturity and a high level of professionalism
• Must be able to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
• Possess the ability to interpret a variety of technical instructions and deal with several variables
