The Academic English Teacher with Discipline PhD is responsible for providing high-quality academic English instruction to students from non-English speaking backgrounds within their specific discipline. The teacher is responsible for developing and delivering lesson plans, assessing student progress, and providing feedback to students. They will work closely with other teachers, as well as administrative staff, to ensure the smooth running of the program.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and deliver interactive academic English lessons to students within their specific discipline as part of the degree program
Design and implement assessments to measure student progress and provide feedback and support to students to help them improve their academic English skills
Work collaboratively with academics from partner universities and other teachers to ensure consistency and quality of instruction
Attend and participate in meetings and professional development opportunities as required
Participate in program evaluation and contribute to the ongoing development of the curriculum
Communicate effectively with students, staff, and faculty to ensure student academic success
Qualifications & Experience:
PhD degree in a related discipline (completed or in progress)
Experience in teaching and facilitating interactive sessions in specific discipline areas
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
Strong organizational and time-management skills
Computer and associated technology skills for teaching and administration tasks
Commitment to student success and ongoing professional development
Working Conditions:
Work is primarily conducted in a classroom setting (highly interactive)
May require some evening or weekend work
May involve international travel for conferences or other professional development opportunities
Salary Range:
