Whenever a new platform/service launches, there is undoubtedly a level of skepticism from consumers and competitors alike, and it’s completely understandable. In the past 20+ years since the early 2000s tech boom, all sorts of platforms have come and gone. Many of these businesses promised great things and failed to deliver.
The entire Jobiak team, right from the beginning, knew they had to earn every bit of interest and faith in AllJobs (a Global Job Distribution Platform) – which set out to deliver something that had never been done before i.e. scrape every available job directly from employer career sites, optimize and keep updated ready for use. Target customers are recruitment service providers such as Job Boards, RMPs, ATSs, search and social platforms, etc. who need access to jobs which they do not have in order to better compete, acquire new customers, and grow revenues.
So, how did the team at Jobiak do it? And, what makes Jobiak’s technology, quantity, and quality of jobs better than the most dominant job networking platform on the planet, LinkedIn?
This article will discuss how Jobiak changed the game by launching the first Global Jobs Distribution Platform (GJDP) and the proprietary technologies/features that distinguish it from LinkedIn’s.
The BIG Problem Facing Online Job Platforms
Whether it’s LinkedIn, Indeed, ZipRecruiter, Monster, or any other traditional job platform available today, they all have one dilemma in common i.e. getting access to all jobs posted online and keeping them up to date. This is primarily due to technology limitations, which prevent them to cost-effectively crawl the web, identify jobs within internal career pages, optimize, post and keep them updated on their job boards on a continual basis.
Even the likes of LinkedIn have less than 70% (and less than 30% if you remove jobs obtained from job boards) of all available jobs, posted on employer career sites, which they obtain via a combination of scraping online jobs and having employers post jobs on their site for a fee. From there on, the jobs are marketed to attract the right candidates.
Jobiak’s Vision
Venkat Janapareddy, the founder/CEO was well aware of the challenges faced by the various stakeholders in the recruitment industry i.e. employers, service providers, and job seekers. Venkat launched Jobiak to build an AI/ ML-driven technology platform to deliver on its vision to connect job seekers with job givers quickly, efficiently, and cost-effectively.
The first product that was launched was a Google for Jobs Optimization platform which leveraged the power of Google (where 73% of all job searches start) to generate 4-20x applicants compared to other providers, establishing it as the premier technology platform for Google for Jobs.
With the Google for Jobs optimization platform firmly established, Venkat and team embarked on another ambitious project which resulted in an industry-first – AllJobs, a Global Jobs Distribution Platform which was launched in Dec. 2020
AllJobs – A Boon to Service Providers
AllJobs can source millions of never-before-accessed jobs because its job-identifying algorithms are designed to look into every corner of a career site to scrape, optimize, and tag jobs buried deep within the employer’s internal career/ job pages. The AllJobs platform had a lot to prove and it delivered. With over 7 million jobs available at launch, which is near 100% of every available job, it was a great feat.
With Jobiak as a technology partner, any service provider has the potential to become the dominant player by providing a single-window access point to every job in the industry and driving applicants from Google and other channels. Others can choose to play in their verticals by focusing only on one vertical and become the single window access to every job in that vertical (healthcare, gig economy, transportation), etc.
Search engines are a perfect target for needing access to every job. Even the likes of Google present less than 20% of jobs to job seekers which goes against their vision of being the go-to source for everything. With Jobiak, they can present 100% of all jobs to job seekers.
How Can Service Providers Compete?
Jobiak’s partner service providers will benefit immensely by differentiating themselves from their competitors, including industry leaders such as LinkedIn, by having better quality/ quantity of jobs, generating higher # of applicants at the lowest CPA, all of which can be accomplished with Jobiak’s technology. The quality and quantity driven differentiating factors benchmarked against LinkedIn are provided below:
- Quality of Jobs
Based on a sample analysis of 41k (of ~96k) companies’ jobs on LinkedIn, it was found that at least 1 job of ~ 23k companies came from Job Boards. Job Board jobs typically do not meet the industry’s quality standards due to problems such as duplication, unethical practices, redirects/ multi-step apply process and inaccurate/ incomplete data. It is estimated that only 1 to 2m jobs (of a total of ~5.6M) on LinkedIn, which BING is currently presenting to job seekers, meet the required quality standards. The remaining ~3 to 4m jobs do not as they were found with at least one of the problems listed above.
Another major concern was that ~50% of jobs were found not to have direct links to career pages, resulting in the job seekers being redirected to other sites, many of which are of dubious quality. In addition, it was also found that jobs were being associated with the wrong companies. As an example, Jobiak found 6 jobs linked to its name, none of which were correct. To address this major issue, LinkedIn is now relying on employers to claim their jobs which is unrealistic and a cause for major concern. Data (as of March 15, 2021) to support the above analysis can be accessed by clicking here.
AllJobs obtains jobs directly accessed from the employer career pages (none from Job Boards) and does not change the base content. Hence Jobiak meets the needs of its customers matching their job specs such as job categories, status (posting date), data accuracy which today is consistent at ~90%. Jobiak’s ML/ AI technology is continuously improving and re-training its ML models which will further improve the quality of the jobs based and soon the data accuracy can exceed 95%+.
- Quantity of Jobs
The ~7M jobs data comes from ~ 96k companies. Of these, over 49k of them had never been listed on any of the job search platforms including LinkedIn. The service providers partnering with Jobiak can claim that they have jobs of ~49k companies and ~2.7M jobs which even LinkedIn does not have.

In addition, the service providers, especially niche players, can also benefit by promoting one or many of the following differentiators to attract their target segments.

- Missing Healthcare Jobs In Linkedin
The healthcare industry was already experiencing rapid growth and staffing shortages before the COVID-19 pandemic. The U.S Bureau of Labor Statistics projects that employment in healthcare between 2019-2029 is expected to grow 15%. That’s adding about 2.4 million jobs, and that number could end up being low, as the pandemic has spiked the need for health care workers.
When the COVID-19 pandemic hit, it slowed a healthy world economy and devastated many millions of lives. The team at Jobiak understood there was an opportunity to use AllJobs data to get the country back on its feet. It targeted the healthcare industry, retail and remote technology, amongst others, by creating a dedicated job portal (www.alljobs.ai) with 7M online jobs and posting on Google for Jobs, all for free. This has resulted in driving 100s of thousands of applicants to the employers and thereby fast-tracking reduction of unemployment in a small way.

Jobiak’s Technology vs. LinkedIn
Many big companies have attempted to build an AI/ ML-based recruitment technology, and none of them have come close to Jobiak’s in terms of speed, quality, and efficiency.
Despite Indeed having started 15+ years ago, with 500+ engineers, they can only scrape ~ 50% of the jobs to date. Their model is based on Xpath technology, low ML/ AI use, not scalable, and it requires a substantial complement of human resources.
Jobiak’s technology is pure machine learning combined with deep knowledge of the jobs/recruitment industry. Jobiak’s tech is built with solid support from BigML (one of the world’s best machine-learning platforms.)
Jobiak’s founding teams’ 40+ years of experience in the jobs industry and use of quality feature engineers operating under the guidance of BigML, the company has achieved what no other could.
Its ML platform’s true strength comes from 40+ supervised/ unsupervised/ DeepNet models with 118 million occupational associations, 600,000 nodes & 27 million edges between title & description, 17,500 soft skills, 600,000 job titles, 58,000, competencies (e.g., data analytics, UX designs) and 20 million trained jobs.
Jobiak’s feature engineering team is also unique, with lots of real data collected manually by resources in India, training and testing the models with millions of jobs. This process has taken more than two years to perfect the models.
The job labels predictor, which was built for Google for Jobs two years ago, is the foundation for AllJobs. It has been working well, delivering consistent industry-leading results that no one in the industry has replicated. Other recruitment service providers tried to build and failed – now they are in discussions for partnering with Jobiak.
Jobiak’s technology is the only machine learning platform in the world that can read a job URL in any language, format and generate job labels with a 97% accuracy.
Finally, the proof of the pudding is in the industry-leading results:
- 2-20x applicants at ~ $3-4/applicant (industry average is $25)
- 100% of online jobs scraped & kept updated in near real-time vs. ~ 50% by the industry leader
